Mr. Abid Qayyum hails from Punjab’s capital Lahore. He was born on July 19, 1987. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Punjab (UCP) in 2009. He did his Masters in Islamic Studies from UCP in 2013 and pursuing another Master’s degree in International Relations from the Quaid-e-Azam University, which will be completed in 2016. He is currently working as Communications and Resource Mobilization Executive at the Lahore Businessmen Association for Rehabilitation of the Disabled (LABARD). Mr. Qayyum has a diverse experience of working in international think tanks, development sector organizations, NGOs, media houses and the Parliament of Pakistan. He was one of the 33 Young Parliamentary Associates YPAs selected from all across the country after a rigorous process through European Union’s Improving Parliamentary Performance in Pakistan (IP3) project which aimed to enhance the research work and capacity of the Federal Parliament. He has assisted numerous Parliamentarians in research related tasks. His area of expertise includes elections, democracy, governance, international relations and communications.
