YOUTH PARLIAMENT PAKISTAN 2013

Youth Parliament Pakistan is a platform for Pakistani Youth patterned after the National Assembly of Pakistan with 61 members from all over the country. The Youth Parliament membership is selected from across the country for a one-year term. PILDAT formed the first-ever Youth Parliament of Pakistan in the year 2007. After the successful completion of four Youth Parliament terms in 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2012, PILDAT has now launched the fifth term: Youth Parliament Pakistan 2013. January 2013

INTRODUCTORY BOOKLET: YOUTH PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY - KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA

After successfully running the Youth Parliament Pakistan on the national basis since 2007, PILDAT has now launched the first-ever Youth Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (YPA-KP) focused only at the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. Establishment and facilitation of the Youth Provincial Assembly – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (YPA – KP) is another part of PILDAT's focus on Youth in the country and Youth's awareness education and training in the norms of politics and democracy in the country.January 2013

YOUTH MANIFESTO 2012

The Youth Parliament Pakistan is an initiave of Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency - PILDAT which aims to engage the young leaders of Pakistan in the democratic system of the country. This project was initiated in 2007 with selection of 60 talented Young minds from all across the country who engaged in healthy discussions and pondered over issues of National interest. In the same year, the members of Youth Parliament Pakistan prepared and published a Youth Manifesto 2007 containing the detailed policies of Youth on issues of national concerns. September 2012

MEMORIAL BOOKLET

July 28, 2012 marks the second anniversary of the ever-painful plane crash in which we lost our best and brightest 6 members of the Youth Parliament Pakistan. On July 28, 2010, six members of Youth Parliament Pakistan lost their lives alongside other passengers in an Airblue flight crash. The 6 members of Youth Parliament on board the flight were travelling from Karachi to join the Youth Parliament session in Islamabad. The awful tragedy resulted in the loss of 6 trained and capable future leaders of Pakistan. Our prayers and go to the families of our members in their irreparable loss. July 2012

This Introductory Book presents details about the Youth Parliament Project and the selected members. The project of Youth Parliament has continued to benefit greatly from the experience in 2007, 2008 and 2009. We at PILDAT, as the Secretariat of Youth Parliament Pakistan, look forward to receiving feedback and input of young members and other stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of this exercise in the future also. February 2012
